Well if TC is in the game, hopefully you can change the effectiveness of it whilst driving.

And have an override button to turn it off completly, whilst you hold the button

I leave my DFP set to 900, 0 compensation in game and then i turn the wheel the same as "in game me" and i dont have to go changing the DFP setting when i change car. The only downside is there is nothing stopping you turning the wheel more than is possible in game, but a) you hardly ever use full lock and b) you can see when you have turned the maximum lock because in game he stops turning the wheel.

Just makes it easier to set the wheel to 1 thing and then forget about it.

BTW ... does anyone else have a problem some times where you set the wheel up in wingman for a game, load the game up and find out the wheel is still on 900 or default settings (not wingman). I dont have the problem with LFS because the wheel doesnt need to change the rotation, but with rF, or nkp etc i use about 400 degrees and some times it doesnt change, so you have to quit load it again and it normaly fixes itself

Clownpaint is making a lot of sense. People were moaning and complaing about how it handles within 30mins of having it. Which is just rediculous. I would love to see the lap times thoughs guys were doing. The default set ups have a tendancy to keep the car very safe and easy to drive, but not very fast at all.

Imagine if you got the opportunity to drive an F1 car. Most people could probably drive it (especially modern F1 with TC, and all the down force and aero grip etc), but i bet they would be no where near the pace of the pros, even with half hour practice  I dont want to compare nKp to LFS, because i think LFS is great, but if you got someone who had never played the game before, gave 'em the FO8 and an "easy" set up, even if they were driving really slow i'd still bet they end up spinning because of the lack of grip (which is being fixed i know ... bla bla bla)

Most people seem to have given up on nKp too early, considering it is a game that seemingly gets better the more you play it, understand it, and push the car to the limit. If i was to drive around in LFS going slow i would probably get bored and not like it ... just give it a chance.

Anyone here who bought the game, but doesnt like it ... post some lap times or even better ... replays, would be interesting to see if you've even attempted to get used to the game.

Quote from avih :it feels and looks very similar to namie 0.99. lack of polish with better graphics and colors doesn't make it polished.

I liked namie for the different "feel" it has, it's good driving experience, but i don't see any reason to shell money on this. namie has so many tracks, with a bit lesser graphics. but it's namie.

well overhyped imo.

ps,
and why the heck do i have to spend more than 5s to find out how to get out on the track???

In real life, you have to know how to start the car, it doesnt just start by magic. So in this game, which is trying to be realistic, you have to learn to start the car ... Apparently people here like realistic games, but still like it "arcade" enough for the magical engine to start itself illepall

Without these features (learning to start the car, flat spotting tyres and having to change them otherwise they're still flat spotted, pitboards, having to wait for repairs etc) this would be just another game ... at least they arent afraid to try new things

Coulthard was still wearing his helmet .. he didnt get his lights puched out

So what if SS is more aggresive than other drivers, everyone can get caught up in the heat of the moment its like that in any sport.

Quote from himself :I havn't heard how crashes would be modelled in NkPro. Anyone got any news?

You can damage suspension, break wheels off (and they are attached by tethers, watch the promo video and you can see it at the end for a split second), im pretty sure there's aero damage and breakable wings. I also read over at RSC that attacking the curbs too hard can damage the suspesion, and if you get a flat spot it might cause suspension failure, but it'll be best to wait and see how much of this is true. There's also mechanical failures

Has it also got Kimi mode (TM) where the suspension gives up in spectacular style on the last lap because you tried to make an optimistic overtaking manoevre earlier in the race and flatspotted your front right?
P.S. I don't seriously expect that it would

you might be amazed...
if I was you, I wouldn't go anywhere near the big kerbs for starts...

I wanted it dark so that the white lines stand out and you get the shape of the corner, its not meant to look like RL or a photo

Yea, hopefully we'll see a proper in-game video before its released, but the damage looks impressive at the end of the promo.

OK mazz now i understand what you mean But you should wait for the demo to see how it runs, someone said that if you can run Nk Namie then you can run Nk Pro, so you should check out the original Nk.

Maybe your graphics card is "broken" in someway.
AMD64 3200
1GB RAM
9800XT

my computer runs LFS at about 60-90 all the time, and our PCs arent that different really.

CPU - 1,7Ghz or higher
RAM - 512Mb
GPU - ATI 9600pro / nVidia 5900 or higher
SND - Build in soundcard
HDD - 1GB free space
OS - 100% Win2K/XP

BTW these are [apparently] recommended system requirements, so..

The focus on a camera would affect what the water drops look like. If its focused on something further away the drops would look like the pic don posted, right
